I began designing the IndyCycle in the fall of 1990 during my senior year at Virginia Tech, but was unable to actually start construction on the prototype, which I called the (Original) Vehicle, until I got my first full-time job in Virginia. The Vehicle was my first attempt at suspension, frame, and steering design, as well as a learning experience with fiberglass. When I moved to Maryland, I rebuilt the front subframe, suspension, steering, electrical, and bodywork to resemble the original IndyCycle design I had sketched out. I will be updating this site with the history of the Original Vehicle and the IndyCycle as soon as I can.
